last updated : Wed 30th Jul 08 ![]() The dates for the 2009 Festival are confirmed as Friday 26th to Sunday 28th June, with the site open from Wednesday 24th June. No acts are confirmed. We already have some extremely well-sourced rumours of who might be the headliners next year, although we're aware that as yet the Festival has no firm agreement with any act ... Glastonbury 2008 rumours >>. Tickets are not yet on sale. The Festival will be offering registered ticket buyers a chance to either reserve up to four tickets six months earlier than normal for a £50 deposit or buy them outright. Those that reserve their tickets must pay the balance on the ticket at any time up until the final deadline of Sunday 22nd March. Many Festival goers who registered earlier this year already have their all important registration number for both 2009 and 2010. Those who have not registered will be able to register for the first time between Monday 1st September 2008 until Saturday 4th October 2008. There will be another chance to register after the first day of sales, when registration will re-open from Monday 6th October 2008 all the way through until Sunday 22nd March 2009, allowing everyone the chance to register and buy a ticket when the remaining tickets go on normal sale in April 2009. The final number of early tickets available, the confirmed weekend ticket price for Glastonbury 2009, and the full details of the advanced ticket scheme will be announced on Monday 1st September. This will also be when details of how to purchase supplementary tickets for the Festival - such as child tickets, car parking tickets, caravan and campervan tickets, coach tickets, and tipi tickets - will also be explained. Payment methods for buying tickets will remain the same for the 2009 Festival as they were for 2008. The £50 deposit will be payable by debit card only for UK festival-goers, while payment by credit card will be acceptable from those travelling from outside the UK. Tickets are likely to be priced at around £160 (which includes a FREE programme and access to the site from the Wednesday at no extra charge unlike some other festivals), with car parking costing around £10 per vehicle, and campervans costing around an extra £50 per van. Getting there on the Wednesday is becoming more popular with each passing year - it allows you to get your bearings (the site is huge) and soak up the vibe, ready for it all to kick off big-time on Friday morning. The gates are likely to open at 8am on the Wednesday. What's On? Expect something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out! Music on the main stages runs from around 11am each morning until 00:30 on the Friday and Saturday and midnight on the Sunday (longer stage running times than just about every other festival), with entertainment on some of the smaller stages running later (until 6am in Shangri-La).
