registration is open for Glastonbury Festival 2011

if you want a ticket to the festival you need to register

Thursday 1st July 2010

Registration is open for those wanting a ticket for Glastonbury Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June across 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

Everyone who plans to the come the Festival must register, and that includes children aged 13, 14 and 15. Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if you plan to buy tickets for friends or family you must make sure they all register!

Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket when they go on sale some time in October, exact date to be confirmed, but if you don't register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2011. If you opt to save this information you will be able to use your registration number again in future years. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is one to which you will have long term access.

Those who registered in 2008 need to re-register as the details were only kept for two years. Those who registered in 2009 or 2010 were offered the chance to save their details - if you did so, your existing registration number is still valid. If you did not opt to have your details saved, then you will need to register again this year.

If you want to check what your registration number is, or when your registration is valid until, click here.

Online registration can be carried out by clicking here.

Registration involves:
1. Providing contact details: name, address, postcode and a valid e-mail address.
2. Sending a passport standard photo: you will be required to upload your passport standard photo in jpeg form for online registration. If a ticket is successfully purchased this picture will be printed on it to make it unique and must therefore be an acceptable facial image. The image must meet passport photo requirements.
3. Receiving a registration number: to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2011 this number must be quoted, it will be a unique registration number. So write it down somewhere safe and do not lose it! As last year, there is a webpage provided where you can recover your registration number, here. Note that there will be no editing facility for registrations, so please ensure all your details are correct, and that your photo is of a suitable size and standard before submitting your details.

IMPORTANT: make sure you tick the box which allows you to 'Save your registration details for future years'.

There is no limit to the total number of people who will be allowed to register. Registering more than once will not increase your likelihood of getting a ticket. Every registration will have an equal chance of buying tickets irrespective of how or when it was made during the registration period. Registration can be made on behalf of other people as long as all their contact details and photos can be provided. If you live outside the UK you still need to register online.

If you have not received a confirmation email within a day of having made an online application, please check your spam folder. If your registration is rejected you can re-apply.

Ticket purchasing will require each buyer to input their name and their unique valid registration number for each ticket they purchase. Tickets will be sent out by courier to the addresses specified when making the sale, and if ordering more than one ticket, all tickets will be dispatched to the address provided during registration for the first name on the ticket booking.

Data collected during registration will be destroyed one month after the 2011 Festival unless you opt to have it retained by Glastonbury Festivals for future registrations. Retained information will also be used to inform you of events run by Glastonbury Festival. No information collected through registration will be offered for sale or made available to any third party.

Those unable to register online should send a SAE to: Registration, Glastonbury Festival Office, 28 Northload St, Glastonbury, BA6 9JJ; to receive a postal registration form. Successful postal registrants will be notified of their registration number by post within two weeks. Those who haven't received a registration number within this period, are asked to contact the Festival Office.

Checks will be made at the gates and if you are clearly not the person whose face is printed on the ticket you will be denied entry.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2011 are not yet on sale, and the priced have not yet been confirmed. The on sale date is expected to be sometime in early October. We'll bring you the details once they are confirmed.

Glastonbury Festival will play host to more than 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, and also has a fantastic Kids area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more.

No acts are confirmed as yet, but as usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2011 rumours, updated as we receive information.
