The dates for the 2008 Festival are confirmed as Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, with the site open from Wednesday 25th June.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £155 for a weekend ticket, plus £5 booking fee per ticket and £4 post and packaging per order, it is now possible to buy tickets without a registration number with a credit card or debit card with no extra costs. To buy online click here.
Tickets can also be booked by phone on 0800 079 2008 without a registration number.
Ticket buyers will need to provide their name and address and make sure that they bring personal photographic ID to the Festival when they arrive. This ensures that they comply with the Festival's anti-touting policy. The phone lines and booking site will remain open as long as tickets are available.
As well as being available to buy online, Glastonbury Festival tickets, are also available to buy in HMV and at the Bristol Ticket Shop, The Mall Galleries, Bristol (or over the phone 0117 929 9008 or 0870 44 44 400) without submitting a registration number.

Those buying tickets in stores just need to provide their name, pay across the counter and make sure that they bring personal photographic ID to the Festival when they arrive. This ensures that they comply with the Festival's anti-touting policy. Tickets are subject to booking fee, with a maximum of six tickets per customer.
Another option to get a ticket is to hire a tipi with 6 tickets package these cost £1,730 to rent a tipi for the duration of the festival. Should you choose to come with less than six people, or with a mix of adults and children, the price remains constant. The tipis will be rented on a first come, first served basis when tickets go on sale on the 6th of April. Tipi bookings will only be taken on the dedicated Tipi booking line 0844 412 4625. Each person over the age of 12 in your party will need to be registered with the Festival. To see the huge range of acts playing the Festival including headliners Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, The Verve, as well as Amy Winehouse, Neil Diamond, Leonard Cohen, Manu Chao, more new music acts than you could possibly see, a dance village covering every genre, and still many hundreds more music acts, circus, theatre, cabaret, poetry, a huge kids field, and weird happenings around every corner - take a look at the stage/area listings, or the Glastonbury 2008 line-ups.
Getting there on the Wednesday is becoming more popular with each passing year - it allows you to get your bearings (the site is huge) and soak up the vibe, ready for it all to kick off big-time on Friday morning. The gates open at 8am on the Wednesday.
What's On?
Expect something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues, including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out!
Just as there was last year, there is the option to buy combined festival and coach tickets, you will still need to have registered to buy tickets. The departure points this year are London, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham, Cheltenham, Cardiff, Bristol, Bournemouth, Southampton, Oxford, Cambridge, and Leicester. There will be multiple departures from each of these locations to the festival site on Wednesday and Thursday mornings - plus extra coaches from London and Birmingham on both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Coaches will leave the site to all of the above locations between 5am and 3pm on Monday with over 90% of the coaches leaving after 6am. A full schedule will be available from www.seetickets.com when you purchase your tickets. If you buy a coach and Festival Ticket package, you must travel by coach in order to obtain your festival tickets.
A new option for 2008 is the offer of a combined train and Festival ticket. These tickets in conjunction with First Great Western trains will allow passengers from London Paddington to travel by train to either Castle Cary or Bristol Temple Meads, where transfer buses to the Festival site will be available. These tickets will cost £55 return, on top of the price of a Festival ticket and will be available exclusively from www.seetickets.com.
On both Wednesday and Thursday there will be regular off peak trains between 9:15 and 15:15. When booking there will be a choice of day, time and destination. So it's worth deciding this before 9am Sunday. Customers must retain their reservation & tickets to board the bus from the station to the site at no extra charge. On Monday morning, people will be able to get a train back to London at their leisure (no reservations), so long as they leave from the same station they arrived at, and still have their valid ticket.
